The First Step - Water

How important is water to our body?
  • Your entire body is estimated to be about 60 to 70% water.
  • Your brain is approximately 76% water
  • Blood that transport nutrients is 82% water
  • Lungs that provide your oxygen are 90% water
  • Muscles that move your body are 75% water
Our health relies heavily on the quality and quantity of the water we drink.

Water is also a great detoxing agent in our body, helping not only your cells stay hydrated, but flushing out the kidneys, liver, and spleen. Drinking water has been shown to help people lose weight, reduce headaches, increase energy levels and more. So, why is it so hard to drink water?

The problem is we have gotten out of habit. With all the options of soda, juices, and flavored drinks we tend to forget that our body craves the most natural of all substances, water.  Want an easy first step in this 40 day renewal?  Here it is in 2 simple rules:

Rule #1: At minimum, drink half of your body weight (lbs) in ounces of water per day. (i.e. a person weighing 160 pounds would need to drink 80 ounces of water at MINIMUM to keep the body at the proper hydration.)

Rule #2: Drink at least one glass of water (two or three is optimal) in the morning upon waking. You are the most dehydrated and full of toxins in the morning. Help your body rehydrate and flush those toxins out as soon possible. You will see improved concentration and energy to start your day! Drink the water before doing anything else in your morning routine.

That's it. Start there and you'll see changes in your health immediately! Keep a calendar/log book to make sure you drinking enough water every day.

Say to yourself, "I can do this!" three times.

Abundant health and blessings to you today!

The Purpose Driven Life - Finding Your Purpose

CHAPTER 3 - WHAT DRIVES YOUR LIFE?

"The man without a purpose is like a ship without a rudder -- a waif, a nothing, a no man"
                                                                                         - Thomas Carlyle

Everyone's life is driven by something. Right now you may be driven by a problem, a pressure, or a deadline. Here are the five most common driving forces: guilt, resentment and anger, fear, materialism, and need for approval. Notice how these are all focused on oneself and not on others.

Nothing matters more than knowing God's purposes for your life, and nothing can compensate for not knowing them.

There are 5 great benefits of living a purpose-driven life:

1. Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life
2. Knowing your purpose simplifies your life
3. Knowing your purpose focuses your life
4. Knowing your purpose motivates your life
5. Knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity

The greatest tragedy is not death, but a life without purpose.

Point to Ponder: Living on purpose is the path to peace.

Verse to Remember: "You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you." Isaiah 26:3

Question to Consider: What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life? What do I want it to be?
